So ever since our kickstarter I pretty much went full on game developing and stopped updating here. It was a really crazy ride for me. I wasn't sure how to take it all in. Getting that much support from everyone was incredible and I wanted to put my all into the game . I wanted to work as hard as I could for everyone. Thanks guys and sorry for not updating here.

So the Kickstarter campaign started on March 28th and was successful on March 31st!! How amazing is that!! And there's still so much time left.

I just want to say that this all really happened because of our friends. They helped by sharing it with people and donating. They are amazing wonderful people and if you helped us in this way - You are amazing too.   If your name is TU - chances are you are reaching godliness from all the good karma i'm trying to blow at you.

Well,  we're completely BLOWN AWAY by the results and now we're super busy hard at work here. We can do what we needed to do and MORE! We're receiving a lot of mail and trying to get to everyone as fast as we can.

I had previously heard that you need to make updates to make a Kickstarter successful so I had planned to design my incentives as the campaign moved forward. Plus it would allow us to publish the campaign earlier on.  But now that it turns out it was successful before I actually posted designs, I feel very bad for making people wait to see them.  I'm sorry, wonderful people it's coming!

I'm pumping my design muscles as hard as I can to create a very awesome wearable Valdis Story Shirt.  It's very fun. These are great times - I'm very happy.  Gosh, you know in college I was super depressed and worried myself about strange prophecies of 2012. Mind you, I was extremely burned out with Thesis, the twin towers and the Giant Tsunami that took so many lives.  But no one told my I'd receive so much love and appreciation this year.

I just launched a KICKSTARTER with for the new Valdis Story project.

We are raising funds for audio. Which is something that we've done ourselves before but we'd like to pay someone else who's really good at doing that job. The money would also help us fund the rest of the project because Valdis Story is pretty large in scope.

The Kickstarter is also just a great way to see our work. It's the most effort we've made in documenting what we've currently been working on.

So, why don't you check it out just to see what we do every day and you can get to know us a bit better   And maybe help us out by spreading the word.  Though we do have sweet incentives!

Hey Everybody!

One Daily Deviation and a whole lot of tentacles later, my one month challenge is over! MY GOD, never again!lol

For those who didn't read my last journal, a month ago I created a challenge for myself where I had to post everyday or else I'd be penalized but ... you'd get prizes!

The idea was to get myself to draw in my sketchbook more often, revisit my old characters and in general try to get into the habit of posting on Deviant Art again.

So what happened during that time and was it a successful experiment?

Well a little yes and a little no.  Yes because what ever you do for a month straight becomes habit but for the most part this was very difficult and frustrating to participate in. Many times I had to scan in existing sketches because of pressure and the fact that I didn't have enough time to finish up drawings to the point I'd like to show them. Also, I actually only ended up revisiting my old characters once! Booooooo

But on the bright side...
It turns out I only failed to post once. I was actually 13 minutes late however that was 13 minutes too many for the people  that called me out.  The first one; the winner was ! What a hawk! He requested a sketch of his character which I posted here:   

Deviant art held their Cute Monsters T-shirt design competition during my challenge. It gave me reasons to post :'D.  I participated and entered two designs:

I noticed many artists were taking this competition as a monster design challenge and then slapping it on a shirt. With my first design I tried to tackle the problem a different way. I wanted to design a shirt that had cute monsters but was more cute in theme. I designed this mother + baby monster shirt:


My second shirt design was more like what most people submitted. Monster design crazy time!! I took an existing mythological creature and combined it with some god damned cute little animal. It's what happens when a awkward and bashful basilisk has a thing for a forward thinking chinchilla and then  some sips of champagne and Marven Gaye songs later ... bazaaaaamm you get this tshirt:


Will I win!? Hell no. There's no way I can get enough votes but it was pretty fun! I had other ideas I really wanted to do. gave me the idea to do a Chibicabra (short, fat, pudgy chupacabra) and I also wanted to do The Dreaded Breaded Cat Monster! It would have been hilarious! What else happened?

I finished one of my paintings and I got a DAILY DEVIATION YAY. That made me pretty happy. It was hilarious to read through comments and see what people thought. It was for my rather disturbing depiction of the worst possible situation a mermaid could find herself in. Sigh but she's so popular now.
